What inspired you to start cycling? Seeing the Tour Series come to my home town, Exeter, in 2009. I remember thinking how incredible it was.

Favourite place to ride and why? Has to be Majorca. Great roads & terrain.

Favourite post-ride meal? If I’m really starving and just need something fast, it’s typically baked beans and a bit of cheese. However, I usually try and make something before my ride so I can come home to something ready to go. Rice, chicken and vegetables is pretty standard.

What are your favourite Direct Nutrition products?  My favourite product is the Post-Workout Restore & Replenish.

What is it about the Direct Nutrition Post-Workout Restore and Replenish that you like? The best thing about this product is the inclusion of important vitamins and minerals that the body craves after a hard training session or race. I actually mix this with milk, instead of water, as this seems to be even better for my recovery. I have this as soon as possible after my training session/race.

What is your advice to anyone who wants to become a professional racer? Join your local club, try some racing and have a laugh. If you’re good enough, it’ll be obvious.

Who is your cycling hero and why? No hero as such. Fabian Cancellara was a pretty big role model for me though when I first got started.

Do you have a nickname? If so what is it and why is it that? Nope!

How do you take your coffee? Latte, flat white, espresso etc... Flat white.

Favourite music? Pretty big on all stuff Deadmau5. At the moment though I just listen to podcasts, so no one particular band or producer. A few good ones: Ibiza Sensations, UKF Podcast and Hardwell On Air.

Favourite film? Memento. I can’t stress how good this film is. I’ve watched it around 15 times now, and I still couldn’t tell you exactly what happens. And that’s not because I’m thick! Give it a watch and you’ll find out. Although be warned; you will watch it at least twice. Possibly more.

Favourite race and why? To ride: Lincoln GP. It always has great crowds and the atmosphere up Michaelgate is amazing. To watch: The Tour.

What has been your proudest moment on the bike? Leading the hill climb stage at the Tour Series this year for the first 30 minutes. It was sort of a coming-of-age for me. I was eventually bumped down to 9th.

What was your first bike? A 1987 Raleigh Quadra. I’ve still got it. I keep on thinking about restoring it to its former glory but I’ve never got round to doing it.

Have you got a secret skill or party-piece? If so what is it? I can skin a cow.

What would your go to karaoke song be? Golden Touch – Razorlight.

Most embarrassing moment on your bike? Crashing in the Aberystwyth round of the 2013 Tour Series. Wasn’t very cool.

If you weren't a cyclist what would you be doing instead? I’d probably be at university.

What is the one thing in the world you couldn't live without? I think I’d be

If you could have one super power what would it be? To live forever. It would be cool to see what the world is like in 200 years. It would get a bit tedious after a while, though.

Would you rather have more time or more money? Time.
